Richmond Art Center

Recent Accomplishments

We work hard to deliver exciting art experiences to thousands of people each year through hands-on learning, well-equipped studios, traveling Art in the Community programs and contemporary exhibitions in our galleries. Below, you’ll find a list of some of recent accomplishments & accolades:

  • Selected as the “Best Community Arts Center” in the Best of the East Bay 2014 poll by the East Bay Express.
  • Doubling our Art in the Community programs in just one year! Our teaching artists bring free after-school classes in fiber arts, ceramics, mosaic, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) and metal arts to sites across Richmond and neighboring cities.
  • Honored with three awards from Parent’s Press. We won Gold awards for Best Art Classes and Best Enrichment & After School Programs and a Silver Award for Best Arts Camp in Contra Costa County for 2014.
  • Organizing and hosting a series of community events — Jazz Art, Upcycle! and Skeletonfest — with free hands-on art making activities for the whole family.
