The Richmond Art Center is located in the heart of Richmond as part of the Civic Center plaza. We are neighbors to City Hall and the main public library. We’re just a few blocks from the 1-80 and I-580 and a quick bike ride from the BART station.

Galleries are free and open to the public.
The Richmond Art Center is accessible for wheelchair users and other visitors who need to avoid stairs. A wheelchair may be checked out free-of-charge and on a first-come-first-serve basis at our front desk. Our building includes accessible restroom facilities. Accessible parking spots are available in both the 25th Street and Barrett Avenue parking lots. Accessibility in our classrooms varies.

Getting to the Richmond Art Center


The Richmond Art Center is located eight blocks from the Richmond BART Station. Exit the station East toward Nevin, make a left on 19th, go right on Barrett and walk to 25th Street.

By Bike

We’ve found google’s bicycle directions are quite reliable. We have a bicycle rack outside our 25th Street entrance.

By Car

From San Francisco / Oakland: I-80 East, exit San Pablo Ave, right onto San Pablo Ave, right on Barrett to 25th St.

From Sacramento / Vallejo: I-80 West, exit San Pablo Ave, right on Barrett to 25th.

From Marin: San Rafael Bridge to I-580, exit Marina Bay/23rd St., left onto 23rd St., right on Barrett to 25th.


Parking is free at the Richmond Art Center. There are short-term visitor spots in the Barrett Street parking lot and more longer-term visitor parking in the 25th Street lot. On-street parking is plentiful all around the Art Center.
