Richmond Art Center

Summer Art Camp

Give your kids a memorable, creative boost this summer at our Summer Art Camps! We have four weeks of incredible programming for children and teens, ages 5 to 14. Find the camp that fits your schedule and register soon for best availability. Art Center Members and Richmond residents receive discounts!

CAMP 1: CREATING COMMUNITY | June 12 – 16

Campers will explore what it means to create community! While exploring different methods and mediums, campers will learn more about collaboration and community arts practices. Campers will also explore how their sense of community informs their own art making.

CAMP 2: SHARING STORIES THROUGH ART | June 19 – 23

Learn how artists share stories through art making and tell your own story. Campers will explore the work of various artists who tell stories through their work and take inspiration from stories they’d like to tell to create their own works of art.

CAMP 3: WHERE I COME FROM | June 26 – 30

By looking at and making unique works of art, campers will explore the places, spaces, and people that make up where they come from. Campers will create works inspired by these people and places.

CAMP 4: CONTEMPORARY ARTS, CONTEMPORARY ARTISTS | July 10 – 14

Contemporary artists and artworks express the art of our time! During this week of camp, campers will learn about contemporary artists and art practices – art that investigates the questions and ideas of the present – and make their very own contemporary art works.
