Assist our Exhibitions Department in implementing a socially conscious exhibition program that reflects a diverse curatorial program addressing a range of aesthetic, social, contemporary and historical issues in order to serve the diverse audiences that constitute the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond. The Exhibitions Intern is responsible for assisting with the coordination and management of various aspects of the Richmond Art Center’s Exhibitions Department. The Department oversees four galleries and organizes up to 18 exhibitions annually.
This internship will provide valuable design experience and samples for your portfolio. Interns will work with the Communications Manager to concept and design projects ranging from invitations, posters, emails, exhibition signage and other collateral that promote our events, exhibitions and classes. 10 – 15 hours per week for at least three months.
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop required; experience with html a plus. Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
