Full Moon Pottery

About Mort’s work: “My work includes functional ceramics and small ceramic sculptures. The pottery I intend to show are tea bowls and wood-fired vessels; the small sculptures are surreal-like narratives. I refer to some of them as “Dreamscapes.'”

Mort’s work has been in clay for over fifty years and he has enjoyed exploring the open-ended possibilities of working in this medium. Whether he is making a bowl or a sculpture, his goal is to animate the object, to bring it to life, to reveal am energy and emotion inherent in the material and the making. He has shown his work in Bay Area galleries and has enjoyed teaching ceramic workshops at RAC.
