Rosesharon Oates

collagerosesharonAbout Rosesharon’s work: “The majority of my work is a combination of woodburning, with added layers of color (mainly acrylics & glazes) applied after to both wood panels and gourds. My work addresses much of my experience with the unseen world, as well as a reverence & deep connection with the natural world. In addition to the woodburnings & gourds, I also make prints & greeting cards.”

Rosesharon is an artist, educator, healer & activist, single mom & long time Oakland resident. I was born in New Orleans, LA but was mostly raised by extended family on the East Coast. My work is informed by the many cultures & colorful personalities that raised me, as well as by my spiritual practice.
