Nightside Studios

Artist: Ralph McCaskey

Holiday Sales? YES

Work: Whether driven by flights of whimsy or deep paranoia, my work is made of a blend of many things: glass, metal and minerals, but, really, fun is the main ingredient. I try to bring a smile to everyone that sees it, and maybe a brief moment of wonder.

About: Glass has always fascinated me – its transparency, its malleability and, of course, its rather tempermental nature. When I work glass in a flame, it is almost a dance – a collaboration of man and material. I have been flameworking glass for 21 years, and gleefully teaching it for 11 years.

Online Store: www.etsy.com/shop/nightsidestudios

Contact: I can often be found in the Metals and Jewelry Dept. at the RAC, teaching glass flameworking or glass beads, or sometimes just kibitizing. If you would like to see some of my earlier work, my near-comatose web site is www.nightsidestudios.com

Twist of Lime

Artist: Ilene N. Conde

Work: Selling fun handmade fine art statement pieces and decor made out of beautiful handmade soda lime glass.

About: I’m a shower transformed into a doer of glassmaking techniques and styles. I channel my creativity into unconventional undercurrents of underground ascetics bling blang boom. I primarily work in soda lime glass and manipulate the presence of bubbles in my work, hence the twist of lime in my name 😉
