Richmond Art Center has partnered with the Richmond-Regla Friendship Committee and City Councilmember Cesar Zepeda to present a exhibition by Antonio Canet Hernández in the Council Chambers. This exhibition marks the 25th anniversary of the Richmond-Regla Friendship City partnership, established in 1999.
Antonio Canet Hernández’s powerful linoleum block prints capture pivotal moments in Cuba’s revolutionary history, portraying the struggles, sacrifices, and resilience of its people. Over the course of 95 works, Canet emphasizes the revolution as a narrative of human struggle, highlighting both the physical and ideological battles that defined Cuba’s path to independence.
Folks can attend a City Council meeting (1st, 3rd, and 4th Tuesdays) to view this important collection -doors generally open 30 minutes early to view the artwork before the meeting starts.
