The Great Tortilla Conspiracy will bring their screenprinted tortillas to Richmond Art Center’s 90th Anniversary Gala on Friday, September 25. Guests can take home their priceless tortilla art or eat it as a taco at the event (with plenty of delicious toppings to choose from).

Founded in 2006 by artist René Yañez, his son Río Yañez, and printmaker Jos Sances, the collective has included Art Hazelwood, Robbin Henderson, Jeff Peterson, Lucia Ippolito, Juan Fuentes, Miriam Klein Stahl, John Toki, Diane Ullman, and John Wehrle. They turn corn tortillas into edible screenprints and performance art that makes social and political commentary accessible.
Over the years, the collective has presented their work at SFMOMA, the de Young Museum, the Getty Museum, the Oakland Museum of California, the Asian Art Museum, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, and Richmond Art Center, among many other museums, galleries, and community spaces.
