Art Club: In Solidarity
Yesterday, Thursday, December 4, 3,000 WCCUSD employees went on strike. Richmond Art Center stands with district teachers and staff, and we’re offering support to families on the picket lines and students affected by the strike.
Next week, we’re opening up a day-program to provide a safe, creative space for students. Art Club: In Solidarity starts Wednesday, December 10, 2025, 9:30am-3:00pm, and will run on weekdays throughout the strike or until winter recess begins on Monday, December 22, 2025.
Art Club offers K–12 students a supportive place to make art, with materials provided and guidance available from our teaching artists. Students may also use our mini library for reading or quiet study. Staff and professional teaching artists will be onsite at all times.
Free for all WCCUSD students. The first three sessions are open for enrollment now. Space is limited, and advance booking is required.
Please send students with their own snacks or lunch. Earliest drop-off is 9am.
