A Message from the Interim Executive Director & Board President

Dear Members and Friends,

We are looking ahead to a great year in 2026 as we celebrate Richmond Art Center’s 90th Anniversary. Before we get into our plans for the upcoming months, however, we want to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU! to all of you who contributed to our End-of-Year Appeal. With your generous support we not only reached our $90,000 goal but we actually exceeded it, raising over $135,000 in individual year-end donations. Wow, what a great response from our community! In addition, we received $116,000 in year-end foundation grants, making this past quarter a true success. We are grateful to all who contributed to our success.

We have big plans in the works for our 90th anniversary year, so please stay tuned as we roll out programs and events over the next 12 months. More immediately, however, we invite you to the opening of our winter exhibitions on Saturday, January 24, from 1pm to 3pm, featuring Art of the African Diaspora, dani lopez’s 3 Dykes Walk into a Bar…, and Spotlight on the Ceramics Studio.

In the studios, many new classes are starting over the next few weeks, enroll now and keep your creativity flowing indoors this winter. For kids and teens, off-site after school sessions resume, Youth Art Tours are available, and Art Club returns with new printmaking themes and sessions during WCCUSD’s Presidents Week Recess. Plus, watch for an upcoming free Valentine’s Day-themed workshop!

All this is made possible by you, our members and supporters, our hard-working staff, and our dedicated Board of Directors. We are truly appreciative of all the contributions of funds, time, and talent.

Wishing you the very best for the New Year,

Nettie Hoge, Board President
