Our world is changing faster than ever. Climate shifts, rising seas, wildfires, pollution, and social upheaval make life feel unsettled and unpredictable. A Turbulent Landscape addresses the instability reshaping our surroundings and considers how we search for balance amid constant change.

Randy Jayne Rosenberg’s mixed-media works combine painting, photography, and assemblage to evoke landscapes in motion. Forms appear to assemble and disintegrate simultaneously, with translucent layers gesturing toward possible futures. Lines extend beyond the picture plane, and materials stretch, fold, and drape, placing the viewer in a space between direction and disorientation.

While rooted in turbulence, the work also considers transformation as a generative force. Nothing is fixed; each piece remains provisional, open, and in the process of becoming. Together, the works in A Turbulent Landscape explore the intertwined relationship between humans and the environment; one marked by vulnerability, resilience, and the potential for renewal.

Rosenberg asks- In a world where nature is no longer untouched, can we learn to care for what remains, and recognize that we are part of it?

About the Artist: Randy Jayne Rosenberg brings to her work more than 30 years’ experience as an artist, contemporary art curator, art therapist and art educator. Currently, her focus is as a full-time artist. Her artwork emerges from a lifelong intimacy with the landscape—a relationship rooted in her earliest memories of seeking sanctuary and wonder amidst the trees and animals in rural Upstate New York. Nature is not simply background but a living collaborator, a mirror reflecting the cycles of belonging, grounding, loss, and renewal that she experiences both in herself and the world. Her connection to the natural world has nurtured Rosenberg and taught her to see beauty in both creation and decay—the landscape continuously inspiring, shifting, and embracing her as she navigates life’s changes.
