A Message from our Executive Director and Board President
Dear Friends,
This year, our community came together to celebrate Richmond Art Center’s 90th birthday with pride and love! Our FY2025-26 Impact Report share highlights from the past year.
For 90 years, Richmond Art Center has been a place for people to connect with their creativity, from learning new skills to exploring complex ideas to advancing art careers. But access to arts education cannot be taken for granted.
Across the Bay Area, spaces to make and experience art are disappearing. California College of the Arts’ announced closure and The Crucible’s recent sudden shutdown represent significant losses for arts education. The shuttering this year of the 50-year-old Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts underscores the vulnerability of community arts organizations in the current economic climate.
In this landscape, Richmond Art Center’s role is more vital than ever. We believe art is an anchor, a grounding force that steadies us. In a world shaped by division, inequality, and climate change, we all need something to hold on to. Through classes, exhibitions, and public events, Richmond Art Center offers a place to learn, express ourselves, and connect with one another.
Will you help keep art anchored in our community? Your tax-deductible year-end gift helps keep Richmond Art Center strong and our programs accessible to people of all ages.

Sincerely,
Nettie Hoge
