A message from the board president

jose and petey

Hello,

Spring brings new possibilities, even in challenging times. Feeling unsettled by current events? Art heals. Creative expression provides focus and clarity. So why not enroll in an art class? Give yourself (or someone you care about) the gift of art.

As I write, our Executive Director, José Rivera, continues his recovery. During a recent visit to the center, José honored Facilities Coordinator Petey with paintings by Ananya, capturing Petey’s dedication and work around the center (pictured above). Petey was deeply moved.

In José’s absence, our staff, board, teaching artists, and volunteers have stepped up to keep things running smoothly. But we need your help too, now more than ever, as we navigate the uncertainties of the present moment, including the anticipated loss of federal funding.

Three ways you can support Richmond Art Center: donate, join or renew as a member, rent our galleries for your next event (gallery rentals support our operations and bring new audiences to Richmond Art Center).

On a brighter note, we’re thrilled to celebrate local artist John Wehrle with a retrospective exhibition at Richmond Art Center this spring. Join us for the opening reception on April 5, or stop by to see John in action during his live painting sessions in the galleries.

Warmly,

Nettie Hoge
