Youth Art Tours

Youth Art Tours offer young people ages 7 to 24 the opportunity to engage with, discuss, and make art. Each tour aligns with our seasonal exhibitions, providing a unique experience tailored to the artwork on display.

Self-Guided Tours: Groups are welcome to explore Richmond Art Center independently during gallery hours. Please notify us in advance for groups of 15 or more at admin@richmondartcenter.org.

Now booking Youth Art Tours for 2024–25!

About the Tours: Students will enjoy a guided tour led by a Teaching Artist, exploring exhibitions and creative spaces like printmaking, metal arts, and ceramics studios. Teaching Artists help to spark thought provoking discussions and teach students new vocabulary and artistic concepts. After the tour, students will then engage in a unique art-making activity inspired by the artwork on view.

Between the tour and activities, students will have breaks and a 30-45 minute lunch, where they are encouraged to explore and enjoy our courtyard and community spaces. Please note that Richmond Art Center does not provide snacks or meals for tour groups.

Pricing: Tours are a flat fee of $150 for 25 students (or less). Additional students are $5 each. For the safety of the students and our staff, we have a 50 student limit per visit. Studios are small and not equipped to hold more than 20-25 students at a time. We require one parent or aide for every five students. For larger groups, please contact education@richmondartcenter.org for potential accommodations.

Free Tours for Organizations Serving Richmond Youth: Richmond Art Center has received a California Arts Council grant to make art tours free to Richmond youth, ages 7-24. If you are serving Richmond youth, please answer the “Registration Form” questions to qualify for a free tour!
