Spectacular roses will bloom beneath your fingertips as you learn to coax ribbon into a bounty of beautiful buds and blooms, with ruffled edges and pleated petals accented by gracefully dancing leaves. Sculpt fabric into fantastical forms – and then dye them using natural materials like indigo, cochineal, and local plants. Explore printmaking where the printing plate is created by painting encaustic medium onto an acrylic panel. The wax-based plate is then inked up and printed onto paper using an etching press. The encaustic collagraph process is very immediate and produces wonderful tonal details.
